Life happens.
It’s great when everything is working for you. You’re in a great relationship. You love your job. Your co-workers think you’re the best. At your last medical checkup your doctor told you you would live forever. You don’t even have to paddle. You can just float downstream and everything is great.
But, wait……
What if that’s not your life? What about the sick kids and the bills? What about that project at work that is due tomorrow? The promise you made that you aren’t going to be able to keep? Your aging parent trying to live at home when you know they’re not safe there anymore?
Life can be as soft and easy as a breezy day on a sailboat or it can be as harsh and unstoppable as a runaway freight train. The point is this: Life is going to happen. How it happens may be more in your control than you think.
You may not realize it, but your body is in a continuous response to the ups and downs in your life. Everyone knows how stress can upset your stomach or give you a headache or even make you gain weight. But the opposite is also true. When you learn how to effectively manage the stressors in your life or maybe even keep them from showing up in the first place, you win.
That’s where I come in.
Just like the coach of a sports team puts each player in a position to utilize his or her strengths and abilities, a Wellness Coach will get to know you, who you are, what your strengths are, then help you leverage those things so you learn to live your best life—the life you always wanted to live. And, just like in sports, when the players are at their best, everyone wins.
It’s part counseling, part psychology, and part physiology. But, the parts add up to your life.
It’s a process that benefits you and everyone around you. I think it’s something everyone can benefit from.
